Bargains Aplenty at the Back to School Bazaar

20160729-blog-jsa

I love a good market day! It gives me a chance to combine my passion for finding a quirky curio with an opportunity to get out and about. You never know just what kind of treasures you might be tempted to take home from these casual stall days and the Canggu Club’s Back to School Bazaar will be sure to prove successful for snagging a sweet deal. Scheduled for Sunday August 7th with a very respectable 12 noon start, this bazaar is a terrific way to ease back into the new school year and reconnect with friends for an entertaining afternoon out.

Held on the spacious lawn of the Canggu Club, there’ll be a host of stalls displaying hand made homewares, original art, chic and cheerful clothing for kids, teens and adults, leather wallets, clutches and hand crafted sandals. You might also score some sensational swimwear at unbeatable prices, beautiful beach throws and batik style waterproof totes perfect for that original gift or an afternoon by the ocean. There will even be an opportunity to purchase a luxury lounge for your pampered pooch!

Arrive early in order to bag the bargains and while you’re there, head on over to the team from the Junior Sports Academy, check out their Open Day and register the kids for this term’s sporting fixtures. Representatives from the JSA will be on hand to answer any queries you may have regarding training times, recommended age groups and explain everything you need to know about the swag of sports which will be on offer for this term. It’s also a chance to beat the crowds at Week 1 Registration and secure your kids’ spot in their favourite sports as places fill quickly once the school term starts.

2pm sees the DJ fire up the decks for some light entertainment and the kids can cool off with the foam party and the Slip n Slide from 3pm while you continue to browse the market at your leisure. There will be games and prizes galore to keep every member of the family focused on fun for the afternoon. Stay on for a laid back Sunday session once the market winds up for the day and indulge in Bistro C’s succulent Sunday Roast from 5pm along with live tunes from Funky Baba band.

Independence Week Offers Something for Everyone

Celebrated on August 17th, Indonesian Independence Day is an anniversary marking the country’s declaration of independence from the Dutch on this date in 1945. Now I love a good reason for a party and a day off and it seems the Canggu Club do too as they have earmarked not just a day, but a whole week for Indonesian Independence celebrations!

Starting on Saturday August 13th, get your budding junior chefs in on the action with the Kids Kitchen cooking class. In honour of Independence Day, young cooks can learn about the special significance of the ceremonial Indonesian dish, Nasi Tumpeng. A cone shaped mountain of rice surrounded by assorted side dishes of meats, vegetables, egg, sauces and sambals, Nasi Tumpeng is enjoyed at special ceremonies and celebrations and is designed to be eaten together.

Cooking classes begin at 10am and the kids can continue with their own celebrations the following day with the Cubby House Kids Club Independence Day themed party from 1pm on Sunday August 14th. Contact Cubby House Kids Club for further details.

Monday kicks off Independence Week festivities with specials on traditional food and drinks from Bistro C and it will almost feel like Friday’s arrived early with Tuesday evening’s soccer friendly from 6pm. Join in some light hearted football fun when ‘Indonesia takes on The Rest of The World’ in a casual invitational where everyone of any age is welcome to strap on the boots and go for a run. With a day off for everyone on Wednesday, the kids won’t have to wait until Friday with an additional edition of Bounce Mania scheduled for 7pm on Tuesday evening.

Definitely no hang dog faces for hump day this week! Fun fires up a notch or two on Wednesday, the official day of celebration for Indonesian Independence, as Canggu Club will really recognise the red and white with Indonesian Street Food specials, games and giveaways at Splash and some Slip n Slide and Foam Party shenanigans. There will be DJ entertainment from 4pm until 7pm when Dive in Movies start at Splash. Entry is free for non members from 5pm but if you’d like to be a part of the fun from noon you can purchase a day pass from Club Reception or online before you arrive. Just Rp300K for adults and Rp180K for children from 3-17 years gets you entrance into Splash Water Park along with freedom to enjoy all Canggu Club facilities.

As an extra special offer for KTP holders, show your card to Canggu Club Reception staff and you can receive a Strike Ten Pin Bowling voucher for Rp100,000! So don some red and white gear, grab a bowl of nasi, get on down to the Canggu Club and be sure to enjoy one of Indonesia’s most important days of the year. Reap Membership Rewards with Canggu Club’s Payment Plan

20160714-blog-pool

Moving to Bali, or anywhere else for that matter, can become a minefield of mounting costs. Up front payment of your lease in full, school fees, staff, electricity and added extras that seem to appear from nowhere means there’s little left in the kitty to put towards entertainment options or experiences that might make this often testing transition slightly less stressful.

In addition to these fiscal factors, getting to know new people and finding secure and convenient places for your kids to meet new friends is vital to a sure and speedy assimilation into your new neighbourhood. Granted, joining somewhere such as The Canggu Club is an ideal solution for many an island newbie’s social woes, but with all of the preliminary costs involved in relocation, the idea of forking out a lump sum fee for a family membership might seem a little out of reach.

20160714-blog-cc

The team at The Canggu Club appreciate the costs involved in moving your family to a new country and in an effort to get you and yours into the groove a little faster, they are offering a new payment option for Canggu Club memberships. Instead of having to pay the usual joining fee up front in full, they are offering the option of a twelve month payment plan. That’s right! You can pay off your joining fee in a series of instalments. Payments are only scheduled for every three months (attached to your monthly fees) and are completely interest free.

As if this isn’t enough to get you hightailing it into the Club reception, they are also offering an additional 40% discount off the joining fee for Gold and Platinum Memberships! Of course, all Gold and Platinum members also enjoy the added bonus of an extra 20% discount on spa treatments at Body Temple Spa, Bounce Trampoline Centre and Strike Bowling as well as discounts on food and beverage.

What’s the catch? There isn’t one! As soon as you sign up you can immediately enjoy all of the benefits a Canggu Club membership has to offer: Splash Water Park, a fully equipped fitness club, gym and twenty five metre pool, member discounts on Junior Sports Academy tuition fees, fitness classes, all weather tennis courts, use of the business centre and a fully fenced sporting field along with the peace of mind in knowing you and your family are safe in a secure environment.

With this deal, you get to have your cake and eat it too! Experience everything this world class club has to offer while keeping some cash in your coffers a little longer. To find out more about how you can take advantage of this fabulous offer, see the membership team at The Canggu Club or email your enquiries to:
