Grand Final Weekend – The Holy Grail of the Footy Season

For those among us who view their weekend football like religion, October’s Grand Final Double Derby is akin to The Holy Grail of sport! Months of making sure you see every single game of the season, the agony of missed opportunities as you witness home team goals gone awry and the nail biting excitement of a win with only moments left in the match, all culminate in the one weekend on the sporting calendar where even the wife/hubby lets you watch the telly for two days straight!

Living in Bali or even visiting the island at this time can cause a dilemma in terms of where to watch the game. After all, if you can’t actually be in the crowd, you’ll be wanting to find a venue where you won’t miss a minute of the match, with a few cold beverages and bar snacks thrown in for good measure.

AFL Grand Final Day action commences from 8am on Saturday, October 1st with the live telecast able to be seen across more than twenty screens located in the air conditioned Sports Bar as well as al fresco at Bistro C. Footy food will be available, along with the regular menu, with no shortage of your favourite ice cold brews.

Should you decide to make a day of it for the family, they will be screening free movies for the kids so you can concentrate on the footy and if you spend RP200K you receive a 1 hour pass for one child to Cubby House Kids Club just across the road. Now that’s guaranteed peace of mind! Of course if you and your family would like to take a spin on the slides at Splash, you can simply purchase a day pass that will ensure access to the water park, fitness centre and other areas of the Club.

Sunday October 2nd and you can do it all again with the NRL Grand Final telecast live from 3.30pm. Time enough to recover from the excitement of the previous day, make the most out of the last day of the 2016 season with friends amidst all of the fervour of footy finals. Once the siren has silenced screaming fans and the commotion has eventually abated, it’ll be time to start thinking about dinner, but no need to stress as Bistro C already has your Sunday evening meal sussed. Their succulent, traditional Sunday Roast is served from 5pm so feeding the family after footy will be a no brainer.

A tummy full of food along with live entertainment from Bistro C’s resident gig, Funky Baba Band, provides the perfect close and a fabulous finale to the 2016 football season. I’ll be sure to save you a seat!
